THE ADDRESS

Where you're headed.

Beckham Creek Cave Lodge

1110 NC 8641

Parthenon, AR 72666

Newton County, Arkansas. Edge of the Buffalo National River region.

FROM THE AIRPORTS

Three options. Pick the best fare.

  • Northwest Arkansas International Airport (XNA)

    • 2.5 hours from the Bentonville area. The most reliable option for guests flying in from major hubs.

  • Little Rock (LIT)

    • 3 hours from Arkansas's largest airport. Worth considering for fare differences.

  • Springfield-Branson National Airport, MO (SGF)

    • 2.5 hours from the Northern approach. Sometimes the easiest from Midwestern cities.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE TOWN | Stock up in Jasper.

FUEL
Fuel stations: There are gas stations in Jasper. Fill up here — there's nothing between the highway turnoff and the lodge. Diesel availability is more limited; check on Apple/Google Maps before you leave home.
GROCERIES
Groceries: Harps Food Store in Jasper is your nearest full-service grocery. For specialty items (good cheese, wine, dietary-specific food), bring it with you from XNA or Little Rock — selection in Jasper is general-purpose.
LIQUOR
Liquor: Beckham Creek is in Newton County. Liquor laws are county-specific in Arkansas; the closest reliable liquor stores are in Harrison (40 minutes from Jasper). Plan ahead.
ICE & FIREWOOD
Ice: Available at Harps in Jasper. Firewood: First round is on us. Additional loads are $20 each, CashApp or cash only.

THE FINAL APPROACH

What the last twenty miles look like.

Step One

Turn off the highway in Jasper, Arkansas. This is your last full-service town — fuel up, stock the cooler, pick up anything you forgot.

Step Two

Follow the welcome letter directions exactly. Your GPS will be partially right and then fully wrong. Use the printed/emailed directions from the welcome letter, not Google Maps alone.

Step Three

Expect five miles of gravel road. The surface is well-maintained but slow — plan on 20–25 mph max. Going faster kicks rocks and stresses tires.

Step Four

Cross three low-water bridges. After heavy rain, water can flow over them. If a bridge looks submerged or fast-moving, turn around and text Rayne (870.365.9785).

Step Five

Steep inclines for the last half mile. This is where most non-4WD vehicles struggle. Take it slow. The lodge appears at the top.

Step Six, The Final Step!

Access to the cave involves multiple low water bridges; 5 miles of gravel road, steep inclines: 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended.

WHAT YOUR PHONE WILL DO

Cell coverage, in plain language.

Cell coverage drops off about ten miles from the property. Inside the lodge, most carriers don't work — some do, intermittently, on the cliffside terrace. Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge for guests who need to check in with the outside world.

Download offline maps before you leave Jasper. Save Rayne's number (870.365.9785) somewhere you can find it without a search. Tell whoever needs to know that you'll be offline — most guests find they don't mind.

WHAT TO PACK

The cave is cool. Pack accordingly.

  • Layers — even in summer, the cave is cool

  • Sturdy shoes with grip for wet stone

  • Headlamp or flashlight (we have backups, but yours is faster)

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Printed welcome letter

  • Any medication that's hard to refill on the road

  • Spring: rain jacket, insect repellent, hiking shoes

  • Summer: bug spray, swimsuit for swim holes, sunscreen

  • Fall: warm jacket, beanie, layers for stargazing

  • Winter: insulated boots, gloves, layers for the firepit

Guests are advised to come prepared with appropriate attire for a cool cave experience.
